Summary
Years after Elie Wiesel survived the holocaust he wrote this memoir with the character Eliezer portraying his experience. He started off as a boy wanting to learn about God to being pushed through the experiences the Holocaust. Being able to stay with his father he keeps his loyalty to him through all the trail. They have gone through ghettos, extermination and concentration camps, dread winters, and illness; but none of this can compared to the death that they saw on their way. They saw people being burned in furnaces to a boy hanging from his neck for a half of an hour before he finally died. Throughout this whole thing the boy lost his faith, hope, and dignity and a lot more.
